GP Strategies releases a newly developed online simulator application available through GPiLEARN™, which includes over 1,600 web-based courses for the power plant workforce.

Developed in partnership with Western Services Corporation (WSC), the new simulator platform is an online simulation training tool consisting of 30 individual lessons specifically designed for combined cycle control room operators. Combining the GPiLEARN web-based portal with WSC’s 3KEYMASTER simulation platform and Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) provides the trainee with an unprecedented integrated learning environment.

“Simulator training has proven to be a very effective method for teaching power plant operations, as well as qualifying operators,” said Bill Green, Director of the Workforce Development Business for the Energy Services Group. “GP Strategies has been helping power companies find solutions to workforce qualification issues for over 40 years and is an industry leader in technical online training for power plants. Simulator systems are the natural progression to offering a complete line of learning services to the power generation industry.”

As part of our goal to improve GPiLEARN, we are excited to launch our “Content Refresh” project. Our goal is to have all of the GPiLEARN English content updated in this new template by the end of the year! This project will provide one consistent template for the GPiLEARN content and will:
  • Allow the use of Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers to launch the GPiLEARN content
  • Provide a consistent template for learners to help with the ease of navigating through the training
  • Allow flexibility for the learners to hide sections of the content to expand the training area
  • Display an up-to-date, modernized look and feel

Stay tuned for additional updates regarding our GPiLEARN Roadmap and some of the next steps to improve GPiLEARN.
